Creators get a personal link. The more stars your link drives, the higher you rank on the creators board. It works exactly the way upvotes work for ideas, and creators have a prize pool of their own.

Rules and how to participate

There are two ways to take part. You may submit an idea, you may bring an audience as a creator, or you may do both with the same account. Every rule below is enforced by the system and verified automatically.

For builders who submit an idea

  1. Sign in with your GitHub account. We read your public profile, your primary email address and whether you have starred the repository.
  2. Star the repository at github.com/spinabot/brigade. Verification is automatic. Your star is checked when you sign in, again each time you return to the page, and every minute while the page is open. The Verify my star button simply runs that check at once instead of waiting. An active star is required in order to submit.
  3. Read the documentation and go through the repository. Brigade is agentic AI, an assistant that plans the work and completes it rather than only answering. Agent loops, tools, channels and memory are all documented there.
  4. Install it and evaluate it yourself with npm i -g @spinabot/brigade. A short session with the product will produce a stronger idea than an hour of speculation.
  5. Submit your idea as a use case built on Brigade. State clearly what it does, why it matters, and include supporting links where you have them.
  6. Share your idea page. Position on the submissions leaderboard is decided entirely by upvotes.
  7. You may edit a submission twice after posting. Deleting a submission and posting again restores both edits.
  8. Your entry stays eligible for judging only while your star remains on the repository. The check also runs every hour across every participant, so a star that is removed is noticed even when you are not on the site. If the star is removed the entry stops being judged until it is restored.

For creators who bring an audience

  1. Sign in with your GitHub account.
  2. Star the repository at github.com/spinabot/brigade. Verification is automatic in the same way. A creator must hold an active star before a collaboration link is issued.
  3. Claim your handle. Your link will be brigade.spinabot.com/ideathon/i/yourname and it belongs to you for the whole campaign.
  4. Share that link wherever your audience is, whether on YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn or anywhere else.
  5. Everyone who arrives through your link is attributed to you end to end. The click, the sign up, the star and the submission are each recorded against your name and shown to you live.
  6. The creators board ranks by stars driven. Where two creators are level, the position is settled by sign ups, and then by clicks.
  7. If your star is removed your board is paused. Your link keeps working and your numbers keep counting. Star the repository again and the board returns.
  8. Creators compete for a prize pool of their own. It is separate from the submissions prize pool and it is awarded on stars driven.
  9. Drive five thousand stars and the creator merchandise drop is released to you.

How upvotes decide the submissions leaderboard

Any signed in user may upvote. A star is not required in order to vote, so your whole audience is able to support you. Each person may cast one vote per idea and may support as many ideas as they wish. Every vote is counted the moment it is cast and the board reorders in real time, in front of everyone. Each idea has its own public page, and that page is the link you share to gather votes.

Where to share your idea in order to gather upvotes

Reach is what moves an idea up the board. Every submission has its own public page, and that page is the only link you need. Open your idea and use the Share button, which copies the link or opens the share sheet on your phone.

  1. Post it on LinkedIn together with a short explanation of the problem your idea solves. This is where the most considered votes tend to come from.
  2. Send it to your WhatsApp groups and communities, including college groups, workplace groups and developer communities.
  3. Share it on Instagram as a post or as a story, with the link in your bio or on a link sticker.
  4. Post it on X, Reddit, Discord and Slack, in whichever communities the subject of your idea is relevant to.
  5. Ask people to sign in with GitHub and upvote. A vote takes one click and no star is required in order to cast it, so anybody in your audience is able to support you.
  6. Share the link itself rather than a screenshot, because a screenshot cannot be voted on.
  7. Every vote is counted the moment it is cast and the board reorders in real time. The ideas that are shared the most widely rise to the top, and the top three submissions share the submissions prize pool while the top ten receive official Brigade merchandise.

Taking part as a builder and as a creator

One person may take part in both. A submission and a creator link are independent of one another, the same GitHub account carries both roles, one active star satisfies both requirements, and you may compete in both races at once. The whole campaign is built in public, so every star, sign up, submission and vote is visible on the boards the moment it happens. The more of the criteria you satisfy, the more of the rewards you are in contention for.

  1. Submit your idea, or claim your creator link. The order does not matter and neither one blocks the other.
  2. Open the Creators page and claim your handle. Nothing is reset, no second account is required, and your submission is untouched.
  3. Your idea competes on the submissions leaderboard, where upvotes decide the order.
  4. Your link competes on the creators board, where stars driven decide the order.
  5. Anyone you refer who goes on to submit their own idea appears in your referrals list together with their star and their submission, so you can see exactly what your audience contributed.
  6. Each race carries its own prize pool, so the two sets of rewards are awarded separately and winning one does not exclude you from the other.

Rewards

There are two prize pools. The top three submissions share the submissions prize pool, and the top ten submissions receive official Brigade merchandise. Creators compete for a separate prize pool of their own, awarded on stars driven, and any creator who drives five thousand stars also unlocks the creator merchandise drop. The value of each prize pool will be revealed on this page.
